Obituary

The Right Reverend Monsignor Charles M Fernandez entered eternal life on June 16,1987. Fr. Charles was born on 31 January 1921 as the son of Michael V Fernandez and Elizabeth Michael Fernandez. Fr. Charles was ordained a priest for the Quilon diocese on 6th April 1946 at St. Tresa’s Seminary, Quilon. He had served in the Quilon diocese in the following parishes: Charummoode, Valiyaperumpuzha, Clappana, Punalur, Tankassery Kochupalli. He was the Vicar General of Kollam diocese. His father, mother, and sister Barbara preceded Monsignor Charles in death. Surviving is his brother priest, Rev.Fr.Dr. Stanislaus M Fernandez SDB, Very Rev.Fr. Samuel Ryan SJ, Rev.Fr. Peter Nelson, Mrs. Ursula Mathai, Mr. Joseph D Fernandez, Mr. Victor Vilayil (all cousins), several nieces, nephews including Rev.Fr. Hubert A Fernandez , Rev.Fr. Aloysius A Fernandez and Rev.Fr. Vijay Isaac.

Many dear relatives, friends and parishioners to whom he dedicated his life in service and love also survive him. May Rev.Fr. Charles M Fernandez rest in eternal peace and enjoy the fullness of the glory of the Lord whom he so faithfully served. Let us continue to remember him in our Holy Masses and prayers.
